Luigi Mangione, who is accused of killing

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson

, received an extraordinary level of attention during his 10-day lock up at

Huntingdon State Correctional Institute

in Pennsylvania.
The 26-year-old allegedly received 54 emails, 87 physical letters, and 163 financial deposits into his commissary account, allowing him to purchase snacks and other items, as per the New York Post. However, officials refused to disclose the total amount of money he received or the specific contents of the letters.
Some of Mangione’s admirers were open about their messages.
One fan shared a screenshot of her note on a

post, writing, “Hey Luigi, I’m certain you’ve received countless messages from people all over the world the internet is actually in love with you,” The admirer, who claimed to be close to Mangione’s age, said she offered herself as someone he could talk to while in jail.

Describing him as “fine [as f–k],” one fan justified his alleged actions, saying, “didnt rlly do anything wrong tbh.”
“Killing someone that has taken thousands of peoples lives himself is not wrong imo,” she told The Post.
Another admirer also sent him a letter along with photos from her recent birthday, later recalling the experience in a TikTok video.
The fascination with Mangione extended beyond letters as fans have even reportedly tattooed images of the hooded gunman on their bodies and created social media tributes.

One TikTok user, identified as @adamlicious666, recorded himself dancing outside the

to Charli XCX’s song “Apple.” The caption read, “Luigiiiii come out i heard u like charli xcx,”
Another 15-second-long TikTok video titled “Day 2 of doing the apple dance in front of Luigi’s prison,” racked up 1.8 million “views” and nearly 2,500 comments.
