With only a few days left for their first face-off on September 10 for the ABC News, Donald Trump has come up with a bizarre request. No, he does not want to sit during the debate or want his mic unmuted. He does not want any box which could make Kamala Harris appear taller than actually she is. In his Truth Social post, Trump said increasing the height using artificial lifts is a form of cheating and the Democrats are known for their cheating, he added.
"No boxes or artificial lifts will be allowed to stand on during my upcoming debate with Comrade Kamala Harris," Trump said. "We had this out previously with former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg when he was in a debate, and he was not allowed a 'lift'. It would be a form of cheating, and the Democrats cheat enough. 'You are who you are,' it was determined!" Trump wrote.
It is not clear whether the Kamala Harris campaign sought for a box for Kamala to stand or whether ABC News will deny it.
In 2020, Donald Trump claimed former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg wanted to stand on a box during his primary debate but Mike who is around 5'5'' called it a lie and fired back at Trump saying that he lies about everything: his fake hair, his obesity, his spray-on tan.
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris' height
Donald Trump is around 6'2'' or 6'3'' (weight around 215 pounds/97.5 kg). Kamala Harris' height has some confusion as records claim that the vice president is 5'2'' but in an interview, Kamala said it was not true. "I am 5'4'' and a quarter -- something 5/4'' and a half. With heels, which I always wear, I', 5'7'' and a half," Kamala said. So even with heels, Kamala Harris will appear much shorter than Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton who debated with Trump in 2016 is 5'4'' to 5'7''
Ex-wife of Kamala Harris' husband Kerstin Emhoff called out the demand made by Trump and said he was trying to establish his physical dominance over Kamala Harris. "Always the nasty man. Trying to use his physicality to intimidate women," Emhoff wrote.
