Border Czar Tom Homan
on Saturday slammed Boston police over their resistance to the Trump administration's deportations or immigration policy and said that he is "bringing hell" for them.
While speaking at the CPAC, Hioman said, "I read a story last night. The Police Commission of Boston. You said you doubled down on not helping the law enforcement Office of ICE. I'm coming to Boston. I'm bringing hell with me."
Earlier, Boston's Police Commissioner Michael Cox, appointed by Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu, affirmed on WCVB's "On the Record" programme that his department does not comply with ICE's civil immigration detainers.
During the Sunday broadcast, Cox, who took office in 2022, clarified that Boston police officers lack the jurisdiction to implement
federal immigration regulations
, in accordance with local and state legislation, Fox News reported.
When questioned about potential conflicts with federal immigration statutes, Cox emphasised that the
Boston Police Department
operates within clearly established guidelines and adheres to state laws.
"We just don't do that," Cox stated plainly. "We don't enforce civil detainers regarding federal immigration law. It's defined here in the state, and that's just how it works."
This stance aligns with both the Boston "Trust Act" of 2014 and a 2017 Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision in Lunn vs. Commonwealth, which restrict local law enforcement from assisting ICE with detainer requests aimed at holding undocumented immigrants for possible deportation.
'Biden administration put border unsecured on purpose,' Homan claims
He started of the speech with saying that if said something offensive he don't care. "Look, let me start out by saying this. If I offend anybody today, I don't give a. Don't care. The media in the back room. I'm sure I'll be reading a lot of hip pieces on pieces on me tomorrow. I don't give a shit what you think about me. I get asked all the time, does it bother you there's a big part of this country that hates your guts? I don't care. I don't care. Because we got a job, too," Homan said.
He claimed that Obama had also worked on securing the border but Biden administration put it unsecured on purpose.
"You know, I wake up every day for the last four years pissed off because the Biden administration took the most secure border in my lifetime and unsecured on purpose. Right? I worked for six presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan. Every president I ever worked for took steps to secure the border. Even Clinton Obama took steps to secure the border because they clearly understood you can't have national security without border security. They got it," he said.
" Joe Biden's the first president in the history of the nation who came into office in unsecured the border and purpose. So for four years, I wake up every day pissed off. That changed November 5th. Now I wake up every day excited because I work for the greatest president of my lifetime, Donald J Trump," Homan added.
