American detained by the Taliban has been freed

An American woman detained last month in Afghanistan has been freed by the Taliban, the former US envoy for Afghanistan said Saturday

"American citizen Faye Hall, just released by the Taliban, is now in the care of our friends, the Qataris in Kabul, and will soon be on her way home," Zalmay Khalilzad wrote on X. 

There was no immediate comment or confirmation from the US State Department.

Hall was detained this February, along with others.
