, died on Sunday after he fell from the height of 10,000 ft in the Adamello mountains. He was alone climbing the Cima Paye in the mountains and fell near the summit. A fellow climber who saw Fabrizio rushed for help before rescue teams were sent but it was all too late as he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was retrieved by the crew and transferred to Carisolo.
He has been the director of Audi Italy since 2013.
Longo was climbing along a route equipped with fixed steel cables, ladders and other aids, reports said. His body was located some 700ft inside a gorge. A prosecutor's office is investigating the death and a date for the funeral will be announced after his body is released to his family.
Who is Fabrizio Longo?

Longo was born in 1962 and studied political science. In 1987, his career in the automotive industry began at Fiat where he was working in the marketing team. Then he took charge of the Lancia brand in 2002. He joined Audi in 2012 and became the director a year later.
Fabrizio was an avid hiker and was a frequent visitor to the Adamello mountains.
