President Biden has defended his competence after Special Counsel Robert Hur questioned his memory and ability to recall dates and events.

The US leader held a surprise news briefing at the White House, telling reporters: "My memory is fine."

Mr Hur found that Mr Biden had mishandled classified documents but declined to pursue charges.
