Amen's friends and family say he was a "kind and "bright" boy
A 14-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of Amen Teklay.
The teenager allegedly struck Amen, 15, with a knife in Glasgow's Maryhill last Wednesday.
Court papers further state the boy and a 15-year-old boy face a separate assault charge.
The two teenagers made no plea when they appeared in private before Glasgow Sheriff Court.
An additional charge claims the 14-year-old was in possession of a knife in the city's Dumbarton Road three days before the fatal attack.
The 15-year-old is accused of being in possession of a barrier pole at the same time or place.
The 14-year-old was remanded in custody while the 15-year-old was granted bail by Sheriff Jonathan Guy.
On Sunday members of the local community gathered at a football park where Amen played near his home in Scotstoun.
A statement was read out on behalf of Amen's father, in which he thanked the community and everyone who had come to the vigil.
"We are gathered today in sorrow, mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of my son, Amen, who was proudly a member of this community.
"We are all still in shock, and none of us are ready to fully comprehend this devastating loss," the statement said.
"Amen was a remarkable young man, loved by everyone who knew him, and it breaks our hearts that such a tragedy has occurred. This should not happen to anyone."
