The BBC has obtained footage of an incident in the early hours of Friday night in which a car hit several pedestrians.

Bedfordshire Police were called to reports that a white Fiat 500 had hit pedestrians in Chapel Street, Luton, at about 03:30 BST on Friday.

Two men, both in their 30s, were taken to hospital where they remain with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and drink-driving and remains in police custody.

Det Sgt Emma Janes said officers believed the incident was linked to an earlier altercation in Kumba Lounge, a nightclub on the same road.

"We know the area was very busy at the time of the incident and believe there may be others that were struck by the vehicle," she added.

A police cordon remains in place, with the road closed from the Flowers Way junction.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information.
