NEW DELHI: The
Chinese People's Liberation Army
(PLA) initiated a series of joint military exercises around
Taiwan
in the early hours of Thursday morning, as reported by Chinese state media outlets.
According to Xinhua news, the PLA's Eastern Theater Command commenced the drills at 7:45 a.m. (2345 GMT). The exercises are taking place in various locations, including the
Taiwan Strait
and the areas to the north, south, and east of Taiwan.
Additionally, the military drills are being conducted in the vicinity of several islands, namely Kinmen, Matsu, Wuqiu, and Dongyin, as stated in the news agency's report.
