Eric Adams admits he was unwell, under anesthesia; but does not reveal 'mystery illness'

Eric Adams admitted he was under anesthesia last week but did not reveal what happened to him.

New York city mayor

Eric Adams

Wednesday admitted that he was unwell last week for which he was under anesthesia but did not reveal what actually happened to him. "Not many things scare me, but I was concerned," Adams said. “I had to go under for one of them … I was going to be under anesthesia,” he said about the medical tests.
The mayor said all his tests came out negative.
Last week, his office said he would keep a limited public schedule as he had to attend doctors' appointments and routine medical tests. “Over the last few days, Mayor Adams hasn’t been feeling his best,” Fabien Levy, a spokesman for Adams, said on social media as he made the announcement.
“Like every other New Yorker, Mayor Adams has a right to privacy when it comes to personal matters, but we will continue to communicate in the unlikely event he is unable to fully discharge his duties on any particular day,” he said.
