Four people have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in the case of a woman who was murdered 32 years ago.

Doreen Morris, 64, was stabbed to death with a fork after disturbing a burglary at her home, Penrhyn Uchaf, on Anglesey, in 1994, according to a 2023 inquest.

Joseph Carl Westbury denied breaking into Doreens bungalow and was found not guilty of her murder in 1995. He took his life in May 2016.

North Wales Police said a man and three women, all from north Wales, were arrested on Wednesday morning.

The force said advances in forensic science and a review of evidence had led to the development and the Morris family had been told.

Mark Pierce, senior review officer, said: "Forensic results, combined with a detailed review of witness evidence, have provided grounds to interview four people on suspicion of perverting the course of justice."

He appealed for anyone with information about the case to get in touch.
