Kush Desai

as deputy press secretary, the White House announced on Friday.
Earlier, Desai served as

deputy communications director

for the 2024 Republican national convention and communications director for the Republican Party of Iowa.
He also held the role of Deputy Battleground States and Pennsylvania communications director at the

Republican national committee

, where he played a significant role in shaping messaging for key battleground states, particularly Pennsylvania.
Trump secured victories in all seven battleground states.

The White House Office of Communications, which Desai will serve under, is headed by Deputy White House chief of staff and cabinet secretary Taylor Budowich.
