Kate Middleton
wore an old dress from her closet to attend Trooping the Colour on Saturday as her much-awaited return to royal duties was a top secret and she did not want anyone to know about her appearance in advance. A Page Six report said the Princess of Wales was keen to join her family at King Charles' birthday celebration and Trooping the Colour parade but was not sure about her health condition.
Kate is undergoing preventing chemotherapy while his father-in-law King Charles is also being treated for cancer.
Only a few people were kept in the loop about Kate's appearance and one of them was King Charles who was delighted that Kate would attend the royal event. Experts observed that both of them have come closer in their illnesses as this year Kate was placed next to the monarch.
This was Kate's first appearance since the Christmas day following which she was hospitalized and disappeared from public view leading to grave speculations over her health as edited photos triggers gossips. Then she came with her health update that she was taking preventive chemotherapy. Before her appearance on Saturday, she issued her health update that she was doing fine.
Accompanied with the message was Kate's photo where the princess was dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt complemented by brown blazer and sneakers. The photo was taken at a top-secret shoot at her home last week for which the princess could only rely on royal photographer Matt Porteous.
With everything kept perfectly under the wrap, Kate chose to upcycle a white dress that she first wore on the eve of King Charles' coronation last year. Even her accessories were also worn before. She accessorized the outfit with her Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore pearl studs — previously worn to Prince Louis’ christening in 2018 and Wimbledon in 2023.
In the upcycling part, her white and black dress was updated with black trim and ribbon embellishment on the neckline.
As Kate made her appearance, staff at both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace worked together to ensure that there were emergency measures in case Kate felt unwell.
