List of US items Canada targets in Donald Trump vs Justin Trudeau tariff war

Canada govt published a list of US 1,256 items that will have 25 per cent tariff imposed from Feb 4.

The Canadian government announced imposing 25 per cent tariffs on goods imported from the United States targeting Republican states and the allies of Donald Trump as the tariff war intensifies between the two neighbors. The first list of 1,256 items which mostly contains food and agriculture products, textiles and furniture, has been published by the government. Energy and tech products were not included in this list as a second list is expected in the coming days if the tariff face-off does not de-escalate.
The order issued by Canada's department of finance said these countermeasures are effective from February 4 and will remain in place until the US eliminates its tariffs against Canada. "Canada's countermeasures do not apply to US goods that are in transit to Canada on the day in which they come into force."
