A man has admitted killing his wife as she pushed their baby in a pram through Bradford, but denied her murder.
Habibur Masum, 26, stabbed 27-year-old Kulsuma Akter as she walked through the Westgate area of the city on 6 April last year. The baby was unharmed.
Appearing at Bradford Crown Court, Masum, of Leamington Avenue, Burnley, pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denied a charge of murder.
He is due to stand trial on the murder charge as well as two counts of assault by beating and one charge of stalking on Monday.
Masum also pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a bladed article
Ms Akter was attacked at about 15:20 BST as she pushed her baby along Westgate.
Emergency services were called, but she was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Masum was arrested in Aylesbury after a three-day manhunt by West Yorkshire Police.
