Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman at a house in County Down.

Part of the Cannyreagh Road, leading to the Elmfield Walk area in Donaghadee has been cordoned off with police and forensics at the scene.

Residents in the area said emergency services first began arriving to the scene on Saturday afternoon.

There are no further details at present.

The MP for North Down Alex Easton said he was "deeply saddened" to learn of the sudden death.

"Donaghadee is a close-knit and caring community, and I know local people will be shocked and saddened by this news.

"I would urge anyone with information that may assist the police investigation to come forward," he added.
