Masseur Terence McBrien has been accused of sexual offences relating to 14 women
A masseur has been charged with 55 sexual offences following a "complex investigation", police have said.
Terence McBrien, 72 and from Alnwick in Northumberland, has been charged with a string of offences including attempted rape, sexual assault by penetration, sexual assault by touching and voyeurism.
The charges relate to offences against 14 women between 2011 and 2021, Northumbria Police said.
McBrien is due to appear at Berwick Magistrates' Court on 19 March and has been released on bail.
Det Sgt Michael Rainbow said the nature and number of the charges, which came after a "complex and lengthy investigation", might raise "concern and anxiety" in the community.
"We would encourage anyone who does have concerns or believes they have information which is relevant to this case to come forward," he said.
