Murder charge after man dies at summer solstice event

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after another man died during a summer solstice event in the Peak District.

Derbyshire Police launched a murder investigation after being called to reports a body had been found in the area of the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in Stanton Lees at 13:38 BST on 22 June.

Isaac Clare-Watts, 26, from Nottingham, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Szymon Babynko - a Polish national - had been charged with Clare-Watts's murder.

Babynko, of Commonwealth Way, London, has also been charged with attempted murder in relation to an incident in Hady Lane, Chesterfield, on Thursday. He is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court later.

A 41-year-old man - arrested on suspicion of murder after Clare-Watts's death - was released on bail last week.
