Four children had been "petrified" by a series of attacks on their home before a petrol bomb attack killed them all, an inquest has heard.
Demi Pearson, 15, her brother Brandon, eight, and sisters Lacie, seven, Lia, three, died at their home in Jackson Street in Walkden in Greater Manchester in December 2017.
Their mother Michelle, 37, was badly burned and died in August 2019.
The inquest at Bolton Coroner's Court - scheduled to last eight weeks - heard that Michelle had told police she did not feel safe in the house, which had been covered in graffiti and had its windows smashed.
Zak Bolland and David Worrall were jailed for life in 2018 for the murder of the four children, and in 2021 also convicted of Michelle's murder. Bolland was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 40 years and Worrall was sentenced to life with a minimum of 37 years in jail.
Two weeks before the fatal attack, Bolland smashed windows at the house with a hammer, leaving glass everywhere.
In a statement read out to the inquest, relatives said Michelle was traumatised and the called police on five separate occasions.
Her son Kyle – who escaped the blaze – said in a statement to the inquest that "the police didn't do anything".
