Essex Police "acted reasonably" during an investigation into journalist Allison Pearson over a social media post by the Daily Telegraph columnist, a report states.

The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) looked into the force's actions after Pearson claimed she felt "bullied and threatened" during a visit to her home in the county on Remembrance Sunday in November.

Essex Police has previously defended its since-dropped investigation over an allegation that a social media post incited racial hatred.
