The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a new photograph to mark Prince Louis' eighth birthday - showing their youngest son on a family holiday to Cornwall.
The prince - smiling and wearing a blue zip-up jumper - has his arms folded and appears to be on a boat, with the sea visible behind him.
The image was shared on royal social media accounts by Prince William and Catherine who wrote: "Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!" followed by a red balloon emoji.
The photo was taken by photographer Matt Porteous during earlier this month.
Porteous has received royal commissions in the past from Prince William and Kate, including for behind the scenes moments from Louis' christening.
Prince Louis is the third child of the Prince and Princess of Wales after Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10 and forth in line in succession to the throne.
Known for his cheeky antics, he rarely accompanies his parents on royal engagements, but is often seen on significant events including the annual Trooping the Colour Parade, Easter Sunday and at King Charles' coronation.
