in the southern city of Mykolaiv due to a

Russian drone attack

. According to Russia's RIA news agency, the hotel allegedly accommodated

English-speaking mercenaries

engaged in combat in Ukraine.
"The enemy attacked the city with an unmanned aerial vehicle of the '

Shahed-131/136

' type," Mykolaiv's governor,

Vitaly Kim

, said on the Telegram messaging app.

"As a result, a hotel building was heavily damaged, a fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished ... There are no casualties," he said.
According to Kim and Ukraine's State Emergency Service, the Russian attack resulted in damage to windows at a nearby hotel, and infrastructure generating heat was also affected.

Meanwhile, Russia's RIA state news agency, citing Russian underground fighters in the region, claimed that Russian forces targeted a shipbuilding plant and a hotel in Mykolaiv where English-speaking mercenaries engaged in combat in Ukraine were lodged.
Ukraine's Air Force on Sunday announced on its Telegram account that its forces had destroyed a drone launched by Russia over Mykolaiv, although no specific details were provided.
Additionally, the air force reported the destruction of four other Russian-launched drones over various regions, including the capital Kyiv, central Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad, and western Khmelnytskyi.
