Severe turbulence injures 11 on Lufthansa flight from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt

A Lufthansa flight from

Buenos Aires to Frankfurt

encountered severe turbulence over the Atlantic, leaving eleven people injured. The airline confirmed that five passengers and six crew members sustained minor injuries during the incident, as reported by Reuters news agency.
The Boeing 747-8, which was carrying 329 passengers and 19 crew members, hit turbulence in an intertropical convergence zone. The turbulence was brief and did not cause any major damage, according to the airline.
"The safety of the flight was not in jeopardy at any time," a Lufthansa spokesperson said, responding to a report by DPA news agency. "The injured received medical treatment immediately after the aircraft landed safely at its planned destination on Tuesday at 10.53 am (0953 GMT)."
This incident follows a similar occurrence in May, when a Singapore Airlines flight was jolted by severe turbulence over Myanmar's Irrawaddy Basin, leading to the death of one passenger and injuring 30 others.
