Zachary Levi, the actor best known for his role as the superhero

Shazam

in DC Comics adaptations, publicly endorsed Donald Trump while later acknowledging that this decision can have consequences on his Hollywood career.
Levi endorsed Trump while moderating a political event in Michigan featuring

Robert F Kennedy Jr

and former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
Levi began the event by sharing his initial support for Kennedy in the

2024 presidential race

, saying, “In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby.

But we don’t live in a perfect world.”
He elaborated on his disillusionment with the current political landscape, describing it as “very broken” and claiming the country has been hijacked by those looking to drive it off a metaphorical cliff. “We’re here to stop that,” he declared, rallying the audience.

Raised in a Christian conservative family, Levi expressed a deep-seated skepticism toward the government, a sentiment he said was instilled in him by his parents. He praised Kennedy as the “real deal” and a politician worthy of his support while also highlighting the importance of finding leaders who align with his values.
Levi reflected on the response from his fanbase, noting that the majority had been supportive since he announced his endorsement of Trump. However, he did not shy away from the reality of the backlash he might face within the entertainment industry. “Within my industry as you can probably imagine, Hollywood is a very, very liberal town,” he said. “This very well could constitute career suicide, so I’m glad I did it with you guys,” he added, eliciting applause from the audience, including Kennedy himself.
The actor’s remarks come on the heels of previous controversies, including a social media post in 2023 where he voiced skepticism about the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, stirring up significant discussion among his followers.
