Kamala Harris says Donald Trump “disrespected sacred ground” when he undertook a “political stunt” improperly filming a video at Arlington National Cemetery this week that resulted in an altercation between his campaign and cemetery staff.
The former president told the ultra-conservative parental rights group, Moms for Liberty, that the allegation was “so disgusting”. He was at the cemetery to attend a wreath-laying ceremony with families of service personnel when he posed with his thumb up by military graves.
Meanwhile, Trump said he will vote to keep a six-week abortion ban in Florida when the issue comes up at the ballot box in November — less than 24 hours after saying it was “too short”.
The Harris campaign quickly responded to Trump’s endorsement of the Florida abortion ban saying it was proof of where he stood on the issue and that if president he would “uphold an abortion ban so extreme it applies before many women even know they are pregnant”.
Meanwhile, a new poll in Minnesota shows the race tightening in the state with Harris’s lead halving over August, despite Governor Tim Walz joining the ticket. However, another poll shows Harris building her lead.
Vance won’t apologize for posting viral Miss Teen USA clip — despite causing her mental anguish
Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance refused to apologize for posting a video of a Miss Teen USA contestant struggling with an answer to mock Vice President Kamala Harris - despite learning the viral clip caused the pageant contestant mental anguish.
On Thursday evening, Vance posted a clip of Miss Teen USA contestant Caitlin Upton giving a nonsensical answer to a question during the 2007 pageant. The viral video became a well-known meme and is often used to mock a person’s intelligence.

Watch: Scaramucci says only Melania Trump wants Harris to win more than him
Speaking on the Meidastouch Network, one-time Trump ally and briefly White House communicatsions director, Anthony Scaramucci, now one of the former president’s leading critics, said today:
Nobody wants [Kamala Harris] to win more than me. Maybe Melania Trump—she could be the only person I can think of. I judge the hatred of Donald Trump by the 'Melania standard.' Like, Ben hates Trump slightly less than Melania. My wife hates Trump as much as Melania. I met one person who actually hates Trump more than Melania, and that’s General Milley.

As Florida prepares to legalize marijuana, Trump calls for prohibition in public
Donald Trump writes on Truth Social:
As everyone knows, I was, and will be again, the most respected LAW & ORDER President in U.S. History. We will take our streets back by being tough & smart on violent, & all other types, of Crime. In Florida, like so many other States that have already given their approval, personal amounts of marijuana will be legalized for adults with Amendment 3. Whether people like it or not, this will happen through the approval of the Voters, so it should be done correctly. We need the State Legislature to responsibly create laws that prohibit the use of it in public spaces, so we do not smell marijuana everywhere we go, like we do in many of the Democrat run Cities. At the same time, someone should not be a criminal in Florida, when this is legal in so many other States. We do not need to ruin lives & waste Taxpayer Dollars arresting adults with personal amounts of it on them, and no one should grieve a loved one because they died from fentanyl laced marijuana. We will make America SAFE again!

Senator Tom Cotton issues statement on Trump’s cemetery visit
Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, a veteran, has issues a statement in support of former president Donald Trump amid the debacle concerning the Republican presidential nominee’s recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery that resulted in an altercation with cemetery staff and accusations of dsirespecting “sacred ground” by filming political content there.
The senator wrote:
“I commend President Trump for accepting the invitation of the Gold Star families to join them at Arlington National Cemetery to honor their loved ones who died during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. The families had every right to invite whomever they wanted to commemorate this solemn anniversary, just as President Trump and his aides had every right to accept their invitation; neither the families nor President Trump violated cemetery regulations or policies. The real scandal here isn’t that the families invited President Trump or that he accepted their invitation, and it’s not even that political apparatchiks working for the incompetent secretary of the Army disrespected the wishes of these Gold Star families. The real scandal is that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden condemned thirteen brave American troops to death and didn’t even have the decency to call or meet with the Gold Star families to express their condolences. Kamala Harris should never be our military’s commander-in-chief."
Cotton is a veteran of the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and author of Sacred Duty: A Soldier’s Tour at Arlington National Cemetery.
