Former US President Donald Trump
Former US President
Trump
is set to participate in a Fox News
town hall
next week, aimed exclusively at
female voters
, as he attempts to expand his appeal among a demographic he has traditionally struggled to win over.
The event will be recorded on Tuesday in Cumming, Georgia, and will air on Wednesday morning. It will be moderated by
Harris
Faulkner, a seasoned interviewer who has spoken with Trump multiple times.
“Women constitute the largest group of registered and active voters in the United States, so it is paramount that female voters understand where the presidential candidates stand on the issues that matter to them most,” Faulkner said.
Fox News has also invited vice president Kamala Harris to participate in a similar forum. Harris has confirmed her attendance at a live town hall hosted by
CNN
on October 23, following Trump’s refusal to debate her on that date.
Despite his popularity among male voters, Trump lags behind Harris among women, according to recent
polling
. An ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted after the September 10 debate showed Harris leading Trump by 9 percentage points among female voters, 53% to 44%. A New York Times/Siena College poll revealed an even wider gap, with Harris at 53% and Trump at 42% among women. On the other hand, Trump holds a big advantage among men, garnering 56% support to Harris's 39%.
