As Kamala Harris inspected the fence line along Arizona's border with Mexico on Friday, former Democrat politician and now an ally of Donald Trump, Tulsi Gabbard called it a shameless photo op. "Shameless. No other way to describe Kamala Harris’ photo op at Southern border, promising to secure it after allowing 10+ million illegal aliens in the past 3.5 years as border czar.
A shameless person feels no shame because they have no conscience. That’s Kamala Harris," Tulsi Gabbard said.
This was Kamala's first trip to the southern border since she became the Democratic presidential nominee. She spoke with local border patrol leaders and said she will fix the broken immigration system of the country.
"As your president, I will protect our nation’s sovereignty, secure our border, and work to fix our broken system of immigration. And I will partner with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents to do it," Kamala Harris said.
The GOP's vice presidential candidate JD Vance reminded her that she is the sitting vice president and she could have done that already. "That's cool but can you just do it now? You're the sitting Vice President," JD posted on X.
The immigration issue is a major flashpoint between the Dems and the GOP and the recent controversy over the rumors of Haitian immigrants eating cats in Sopringfield was a fallout of that. The GOP accused the Biden administration for allowing a record number of immigrants into the country, calling Kamala Harris the border Czar who spent little time at the border.
Arizona is the only battleground state that borders Mexico and witnessed a record influx of asylum seekers last year. Immigration and border security is a top issue in Arizona with the voters favoring Trump on migration.
Harris, on the other hand, promised a tougher stance on illegal immigration and said, “I reject the false choice that suggests we must choose either between securing our border and creating a system that is orderly, safe and humane,” Harris said. “We can and we must do both.”
