In incidents reported in mid-April 2026, authorities confirmed that motorists engaged in drifting, sudden swerving and disruptive driving across areas such as Al Ruwayyah and Lahbab, prompting immediate enforcement action.Videos released by Dubai Police show cars skidding across wet roads, blocking lanes and creating high-risk situations for other motorists. Dubai's zero tolerance for reckless driving
Senior officials have issued a strong warning following the incidents, stressing that rainfall is not an excuse for dangerous driving. Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, said such actions are closely monitored and will be dealt with firmly.He noted that wet roads significantly reduce tyre grip, increasing the likelihood of losing control within seconds.
