Kai Cenat and Tyla reunited for their first livestream together in more than two years, but it wasn't the rides, games, or Disney World adventure that became the biggest talking point.
Instead, a few seconds inside a photo booth ended up stealing all the attention.
During their July 2026 collab stream from Orlando, Florida, the pair visited Arcade Time USA, where an awkward interaction was caught live and later clipped across social platforms. The moment itself was incredibly short. Kai closed the curtain of the photo booth just before the pictures were supposed to be taken. Almost instantly, Tyla pulled it back open.
That tiny exchange had viewers coming up with all kinds of explanations. Some connected it to their long-running "friend zone" meme, while others believed there were much more practical reasons behind what happened.
Inside the awkard Kai Cenat and Tyla photo booth moment everyone keeps replaying
The photo booth visit happened during a fun stop at Arcade Time USA, where Kai and Tyla were spending time playing games and meeting fans. After stepping inside together, Kai reached over and shut the curtain, something that's normally done in photo booths to block outside light before taking pictures.
Tyla reacted almost immediately by pulling the curtain back open. The livestream captured the brief exchange without any explanation, leaving viewers to interpret it for themselves.Since it happened live, the clip was quickly shared in different edits, each pushing a different theory about what the moment really meant.
Kai later explained why he closed the curtain
After the clips spread online, Kai spoke about the situation during another stream alongside Agent, who laughed throughout the conversation.
Looking back at the moment, Kai admitted he was confused by Tyla's reaction."I ain't gonna lie shoutout to Tyla but I was confused, like wtf it's a photo booth," he said before adding, "You're supposed to close the curtain."According to Kai, there wasn't any hidden meaning behind what he did. He explained that he was simply following how photo booths usually work and didn't expect the reaction that followed.
Why viewers couldn't agree on what the clip meant
One side of the internet treated the whole thing like another chapter in Kai and Tyla's running joke that dates back to their March 2024 stream, when Tyla politely told him, "We're friends though,"after he asked her out during Truth or Dare. For many viewers, the curtain moment fit perfectly into that ongoing meme.Others looked at the situation differently. Some pointed out that Orlando was dealing with temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s with heavy humidity, making a small enclosed booth feel even hotter.A few also argued that Tyla, being a high-profile artist with a protective team, may simply have preferred staying visible in a public setting. None of those explanations have been confirmed by either Kai or Tyla.
