Streamer Nicholas “Nick” Fosco, better known online as Lacy, has explained why he canceled a planned stream with actor Mark Wahlberg. Lacy said he wanted the stream to feel like a real meeting between two people, not a short promotional deal.
He became upset after learning that Wahlberg had already done streams with three other creators just days before their planned stream. Lacy said he first felt special when he heard that the famous actor wanted to stream with him. However, the situation later made him change his mind.
What made Lacy cancel his planned stream with Mark Wahlberg?
Lacy explained his decision in a self-recorded video shared on the X. Some people online thought he canceled because Wahlberg had previously streamed with N3on.
Lacy made it clear that this was not the reason. He said he likes N3on and has nothing against him.
Instead, Lacy said he wants his collaborations to feel genuine. He usually talks with people before working with them and likes to spend time with them away from the camera. He said he does not mind when someone comes to his stream to promote a movie, show, or other project, as long as it happens naturally.Lacy said, “I want you to want to hang out with me on my stream.”
He also said he does not like the idea of someone appearing on his stream for one hour just to promote something in return for him appearing on their stream.
Lacy explains why Mark Wahlberg’s other collabs bothered him
Lacy said he was excited when he first heard that Wahlberg wanted to stream with him. He viewed Wahlberg as an “acting legend” and thought the actor wanted to spend time with him.However, Lacy later found out that Wahlberg was doing three other streams with different creators in the two days before their planned stream.
This changed how he felt about the collaboration.“I thought I was special. I thought Mark Wahlberg wanted to do something with me and hang out with me and do a stream with me. And now he’s doing three streams the two days before me,” Lacy said.He also said he does not want collaborations to be controlled by strict plans from agents. He does not want to be told exactly what to watch, say, or do during a short stream. For Lacy, a real collaboration should feel natural, not like a sponsorship.In the end, Lacy said he is happy to help promote an upcoming project, but he wants both people to genuinely want to spend time together. Since he did not feel that way about the planned Mark Wahlberg stream, he decided to cancel it.
