A mural of England stars Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers eating orange chips has been vandalised.

The artwork depicting the Black Country-born footballers tucking into the local delicacy, also known as battered chips, resides on the side of the Classic Fryer chippy on Hagley Road, Quinton.

Its creator, Dudley artist Dion Kitson, posted a photo on his Instagram account, showing that much of the artwork of Bellingham had been ripped off the wall.

"This is why we can't have nice things, I spend my own money, time and resources creating art for people to enjoy," Kitson told the BBC.

"It's sad to see, I'm upset but as Cod is my witness, I'm planning something bigger and batter," he joked.

Many social media users commented that Kitson should create something bigger, with others suggesting a new mural should be done in Bellingham's home town of Stourbridge.

The art was put on the building ahead of the World Cup quarter final in July.
