A security guard at a
Taco Bell
in downtown Los Angeles was caught on video slapping a woman across the face after she refused to leave the restaurant, the New York Post reports.
“He slapped the s–t out of her. It was crazy. Everybody was shocked,” said Alejandro Sanchez, who recorded the viral video and spoke to SWNS.
The incident took place on Sunday and left customers in stunned silence.
Footage showed the woman walking away from the guard and heading toward a self-service kiosk to place her order. The security guard, a male, followed her closely before grabbing her arm, turning her to face him, and delivering a hard slap across her face.
“The security guard was telling her to leave, and she didn’t want to because she was ordering food,” said Sanchez. “Then he just went off, and she started going crazy," he added.
The woman held her face as she walked to the other side of the restaurant, with the guard continuing to follow her. The two exchanged heated words under a television broadcasting the Super Bowl before he ultimately escorted her out.
While the reason for the confrontation is unclear, Sanchez, a regular at the Taco Bell, said the restaurant is near Skid Row, where many people pass through.
Sanchez also claimed that Taco Bell employees seemed more concerned about him filming the incident than about the slap itself.
He speculated that the guard’s actions might have been influenced by the woman’s appearance.
The fast-food chain did not comment on the altercation.
