Russian fashion model and TV presenter Svetlana Savitskaya died in a car accident in France on Wednesday, StarHit has reported.

According to Savitskaya’s friend, she was hit by a car in Paris. A driver, while trying to avoid a head-on collision with another car, steered towards a sidewalk and ran over the model. The 34-year-old, who fell under the wheels of the car, succumbed to her injuries.

“Two cars were driving towards each other. One turned sharply and hit a pedestrian. It turned out to be our Sveta,” one of her friends told the outlet. “Her mother asks everyone to whom she was dear to pray for her bright soul for 40 days.”

Over the past few years, Savitskaya had lived abroad and worked as a model for fashion magazines such as L’Officiel, Bazaar, and Glamour.

In Russia, she hosted popular TV shows on Russian music channel RU TV, entertainment and lifestyle broadcaster Friday, Europa Plus TV, and ZHARA TV channels.

“Such a bright and tragically short fate! Our little star, you are forever in our hearts,” Savitskaya’s followers commented on social media.

She was born in Moscow in 1990 and graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and the Law Academy. Savitskaya later moved to Los Angeles and then to London, where she received a master’s degree in art.

She will be buried at the Troekurovsky Cemetery in Moscow next Monday, according to her relatives.
